Event
Suz Doyle & Julie Williams with Friends in Concert
Please join us in a night of gladness and gratefulness for the capacity to share our generosity.
The Lahaina fires were devastating to the Hawaiian people of Maui. The news cameras have all gone, yet over 1,000 people have lost their homes and livelihoods. All proceeds from this show will go to Pacific Birth Collective--Fire Relief. This organization helps women with small children to access basic necessities post fire. These women lost everythingdiapers, bottles formula, onesies, towels, cribs, homes . . . you name it, they lost it.
Julie's sister Patty makes her home in Lahaina, and her two daughters attended Kamehameha schools. Patty's house was spared, but the real life tragedies that touch Patty's friends and family continue to unfold. This night is about sharing. Sharing joy. Sharing grief. And providing true Aloha to people still in shock at their loss.
Suz Doyle is one of the most generous musicians around. She can play practically any instrument and shares her love and passion for music on multiple levels throughout the community of Corvallis and beyond. Whether sponsoring the Ukulele Cabaret or providing tunes in memory care facilities, teaching piano, writing musicals, caring for neighbors, sharing seeds from her garden, or planting kindness everywhere, Suz knows how to have fun and includes everyone in the inside jokes.
Neils Nielsen builds and plays bass guitars and has an amazingly playful ability to build practically anything from nothing. Up-cycler extraordinaire!
Karen Sikich plays guitar and sings in many choirs and has held many an audience captive with her songs and storytelling. Karen's song catalog and talents seems endless.
Julie Williams--singer, retired teacher, community leader, and a thirty-year member of Jubilate Women's Choir and member of tight harmony groups Four-in-Hand and Absolute Harmony. Julie honors her father and his lilting Irish tenor voice in her song choices, from lullabies to 70s angst songs to show tunes and more.
Absolute Harmony--Micki Reaman, Shelley Willis, Julie Williams, and Elizabeth Wyatt returns after a long break to round out the evening with songs that bring laughter and harmonies that seep into your soul.
